There are, unfortunately, always costs involved in your favorite hobbies. To prepare you for the costs associated with being a ski patroller, below is an in-depth list of potential costs. Keep in mind, you probably don't need all of items listed below right away. Plus, if you know what you're looking for, you can find outlets and swaps to help cut down on the price. Items in bold are required. All costs are estimated.

There are many ways to cut down on the costs. Shop the ski swaps and outlet stores. Also, ask other patrollers how they like their gear and where they got it. Sometimes really good deals can be found by asking the right people. Another tip: don't buy anything until you really need it.
